 
The Echo Foundation was founded in 1991. It is a registered Section 21 Company, established as a “not for profit” organisation.
The Foundation operates in the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan Municipality of Port Elizabeth, a coastal City, situated in the Eastern Cape of Southern Africa. The City is home to some 1.5 million people.
The Foundation houses over 1,300 Residents within its twelve villages and frail care facilities.

The Foundation is guided by a non – executive Chairperson and eight non – executive Directors. These Directors give of their time voluntarily and bring a wealth of professional expertise to the Foundation.

Management structure
The Foundation is managed via its Head Office situated within the Fairhaven retirement village, to which the various Villages and Home structures report.
The Foundation’s Mission is to:
“be a self sustaining provider of acceptable and cost effective housing, institutional care and community services to senior citizens, thereby offering security and peace of mind”
The Foundation’s Vision is to:
“be considered as a leading provider of accommodation and institutional care to senior citizens of Port Elizabeth”
The Foundation’s values:
The Foundation is managed on a client centric basis where values are considered the most important aspect of service delivery. These values are well communicated and respected by both our Residents and Staff.
